The Galaxy Watcher is a 'selfie-at-a-distance' photograph I took at Pedn Vounder, near Porthcurno in Cornwall, one beautifully clear night.
The Milky Way was probably the clearest I’ve ever seen it, shining brightly over the Atlantic ocean where distant fishing boat lights can be made out on the horizon.
I took this photo as a reminded to myself of how insignificant we are in the face of the Galaxy, a structure over 100,000 light years across. And yet, maybe it is our own consciousness that shapes the world we see. Would there even be space without consciousness?
